Job Priority

36 viewsUpdated 21 June 2026

Priority levels help dispatchers focus on urgent work first. When you have a full queue, priorities ensure time-sensitive jobs get attention while routine work fits around them.

    • Save

On Existing Jobs

    • Open the job

    • Click the priority indicator (or find in details)

    • Select new priority

    • Save

💡

Priority from Rentals

When jobs are created from rentals:

    • Standard delivery — Normal priority

    • Same-day delivery — High priority (automatic)

    • ASAP delivery — ASAP priority (automatic)

Priority can be adjusted after creation if needed.

How Priority Affects Display

In the Queue

Jobs sort by:

    • Priority — ASAP first, then High, Normal, Low

    • Scheduled time — Earliest first within each priority

On Staff Columns

Priority jobs show:

    • Coloured border matching priority

    • Flag or badge icon

    • Sorted to top of their time slot

In Notifications

High priority and ASAP jobs:

    • Send immediate push notifications

    • Override quiet hours (if configured)

    • Show urgency indicator in notification

ASAP Jobs

ASAP is reserved for true emergencies:

    • Equipment breakdown on active job site

    • Safety issue requiring immediate response

    • VIP customer with urgent need

⚠️

Warning: Overusing ASAP dilutes its meaning. If everything is urgent, nothing is. Reserve ASAP for genuine emergencies.

Filtering by Priority

    • Go to Logistics

    • Click "Filter"

    • Select priority levels to show

Common filters:

    • ASAP + High only — See urgent work

    • Normal + Low — See routine work to schedule

Priority Alerts

The system alerts you to priority issues:

    • Unassigned ASAP — Dashboard warning if ASAP job isn't assigned

    • High priority approaching — Alert if high priority job is within 2 hours

    • Priority overdue — Escalation if priority job passes scheduled time

Automatic Priority Changes

Some conditions automatically affect priority:

    • Approaching deadline — Jobs may bump to High as time approaches

    • Customer follow-up — If customer calls asking about a job

    • Overdue jobs — Past due jobs are flagged regardless of original priority

Best Practices

Assigning ASAP

    • Set to ASAP

    • Assign immediately — Don't leave in queue

    • Call or message staff — Don't rely on notification alone

    • Monitor progress — Check it gets done

Managing High Priority

    • Review at start of day

    • Assign to reliable staff

    • Build in buffer time
