Job Queue

The job queue is your staging area for work that needs to be assigned. It shows all pending deliveries, pickups, and service jobs waiting for dispatch to staff members.

Understanding the Queue

Jobs enter the queue from multiple sources:

    • Rental deliveries — When rentals are created with delivery

    • Rental pickups — When return dates are scheduled

    • Service requests — From customers or internal requests

    • Manual jobs — Created directly in Logistics

Viewing the Queue

    • Go to Logistics

    • The queue appears on the left side of the dispatch board

    • Unassigned jobs are listed by scheduled date/time

Queue Information

Each job in the queue shows:

Field

Description

Type Icon

Delivery, Pickup, or Service

Customer

Who the job is for

Address

Delivery/pickup location

Scheduled Time

When it needs to happen

Priority

Priority level or ASAP flag

Equipment

Brief list of items

Filtering the Queue

Filter to find specific jobs:

    • Date — Today, tomorrow, this week, date range

    • Job type — Delivery, Pickup, Service

    • Priority — High priority, ASAP only

    • Area — By suburb or region

Tip: Start each morning by filtering to "Today" to see what needs to be dispatched.

Assigning from the Queue

Drag and Drop

    • Click and hold a job in the queue

    • Drag it to a staff member's column

    • Drop it at the appropriate time slot

    • Job moves from queue to assigned

Click to Assign

    • Click a job to open details

    • Click "Assign"

    • Select staff member from dropdown

    • Confirm

Queue Alerts

The queue highlights issues:

    • Red border — Overdue (scheduled time has passed)

    • Orange border — Due soon (within 2 hours)

    • Star icon — High priority

    • Clock icon — Time-sensitive (specific time window)

Creating Jobs Manually

    • Click "Add Job" above the queue

    • Select job type: Delivery, Pickup, Service, or Transfer

    • Enter details:

✓ Required

    • Customer

    • Address

    • Scheduled date/time

○ Optional

    • Link to rental

    • Equipment list

    • Special instructions

    • Priority level

    • Save — Job appears in queue

Bulk Actions

Select multiple jobs for bulk operations:

    • Hold Shift and click to select multiple

    • Click "Bulk Actions"

    • Choose action:

    • Assign to same staff member

    • Change date

    • Set priority

Tips for Queue Management

📝 Check Queue Regularly

Jobs accumulate throughout the day. Don't let the queue grow too large.

💰 Prioritize Thoughtfully

Not everything can be urgent. Reserve high priority for truly time-sensitive jobs.

📂 Clear Overdue Items

Overdue jobs need attention — either reschedule or complete them.

🎯 Balance Workloads

Don't overload one person while others have capacity.

Note: Jobs in the queue are visible to all dispatch staff. Coordinate with your team to avoid double-assigning.
