The Logistics module is your dispatch command center — managing deliveries, pickups, and service jobs from assignment through completion. It gives managers visibility into all field operations and tools to optimize scheduling.

The Dispatch Board

The dispatch board shows all jobs in a visual, drag-and-drop interface:

    • Job Queue — Unassigned jobs waiting for dispatch

    • Staff Columns — Each driver/technician's assigned work

    • Timeline View — Jobs plotted on a daily/weekly schedule

    • Map View — Geographic view of job locations

Accessing Logistics

    • Click "Logistics" in the sidebar

    • Select your view: Board, Timeline, or Map

    • Filter by date — Today, tomorrow, or date range

Job Workflow

Every job moves through these stages:

    • Created — Job generated from rental or manually created

    • Assigned — Staff member allocated to the job

    • In Progress — Staff has started the job

    • Completed — Job finished, equipment delivered/collected

Key Features

Drag-and-Drop Assignment

Assign jobs by dragging from the queue onto a staff member's column. The system automatically checks availability and warns of conflicts.

Priority Management

Flag urgent jobs with priority levels. High-priority jobs appear at the top with visual indicators.

Route Optimization

Group nearby jobs for the same driver. The map view shows job locations so you can plan efficient routes.

Real-Time Updates

Job statuses update in real-time as staff mark progress. See who's on their way, who's arrived, and who's finished.

Integration with Rentals

Jobs are automatically created from rentals:

    • Delivery jobs — Created when rental includes delivery

    • Pickup jobs — Created when return date approaches

    • Service jobs — Created from service requests

Changes to rentals automatically update associated jobs.

Staff Views

Staff see their assigned jobs in the mobile app:

    • Today's jobs with times and addresses

    • Navigation to each site

    • Customer contact information

    • Equipment lists and special instructions

📝 Plan Ahead

Review tomorrow's jobs at end of day. Catch issues before they become problems.

💰 Consider Geography

Group jobs in the same area. Fuel costs and time add up with inefficient routing.

📂 Communicate Changes

When schedules shift, update jobs immediately so staff aren't surprised.

🎯 Track Performance

Monitor on-time completion rates. Identify patterns and bottlenecks.
