Push Notifications (Dispatch)

36 viewsUpdated 21 June 2026

Push notifications alert field staff to new assignments, schedule changes, and urgent updates instantly on their mobile devices. They're the primary communication channel for time-sensitive dispatch information.

What Triggers Push Notifications

How Staff Receive Notifications

    • Staff installs CloudRent Pro app

    • Enables notifications when prompted

    • Stays logged in

    • Receives push notifications even when app is closed

💡

Tip: Have new staff enable notifications during onboarding. It's harder to get them to change settings later.

Notification Content

Push notifications include:

    • Job type — Delivery, Pickup, or Service

    • Customer name

    • Address (abbreviated)

    • Scheduled time

    • Priority indicator if high priority

Tapping the notification opens the job details in the app.

Configuring Dispatch Notifications

Company-Wide Settings

    • Go to Settings → Notifications

    • Configure dispatch notifications:

    • Which events trigger notifications

    • Quiet hours (when not to send)

    • ASAP override (send during quiet hours)

Staff Preferences

Each staff member can adjust their preferences:

    • Open profile → Settings

    • Go to Notifications

    • Toggle notification types on/off

⚠️

Warning: Staff who disable job assignment notifications may miss critical assignments. Managers should ensure key notifications stay enabled.

Quiet Hours

Prevent notifications during off-hours:

    • Go to Settings → Notifications → Quiet Hours

    • Set start time (e.g., 9:00 PM)

    • Set end time (e.g., 6:00 AM)

    • Choose exceptions: ASAP jobs can override

Notifications held during quiet hours are delivered when they end.

ASAP Job Broadcasts

When an ASAP job is created without assignment:

    • System sends broadcast to all available drivers

    • First to accept gets the job

    • Others notified that job was claimed

This gets urgent jobs assigned quickly without dispatcher bottleneck.

Troubleshooting Notifications

Staff Not Receiving

Check these common issues:

    • App not installed — Push requires the mobile app

    • Notifications disabled — Check device settings

    • Logged out — Must be logged in to receive

    • Battery saver — Some phones block notifications

    • Do Not Disturb — Check phone isn't silencing

Testing Notifications

    • Go to staff profile

    • Click "Send Test Notification"

    • Verify they receive it

Notification History

View notifications sent to a staff member:

    • Open staff profile

    • Click "Notification History"

    • See all notifications with timestamps and delivery status

Useful for verifying someone was notified about a change.

Complementing Push with Other Channels

Push notifications work best with:

    • In-app notifications — Seen when using the system

    • Email — Record for detailed job information

    • Direct call/SMS — For truly urgent situations

Don't rely solely on push for critical communications.

Tips for Dispatch Notifications

📝 Verify Delivery

For ASAP jobs, follow up to confirm staff received and understood.

💰 Don't Overwhelm

Too many notifications leads to ignoring them. Be selective.

📂 Use for Time-Sensitive

Push is for "need to know now." Routine info can go via email.

🎯 Check Device Settings

When staff report missing notifications, check their phone settings first.

ℹ️

Note: Push notifications require internet connectivity. Staff in areas with poor signal may experience delays.
