Staff chat provides instant messaging between team members within CloudRent Pro. Send direct messages, create group conversations, and broadcast announcements — all in one place.

Message Types

Starting a Conversation

Direct Message

    • Click Chat in the sidebar

    • Click "New Message"

    • Select a staff member

    • Type your message

    • Send

Group Chat

    • Click Chat → "New Group"

    • Name the group

    • Add participants

    • Create

Sending Messages

    • Open the conversation

    • Type in the message box

    • Press Enter or click Send

Messages appear instantly for all participants.

Attachments

Share files and images:

    • Click the attachment icon

    • Select a file

    • Add optional message

    • Send

Supported: Images, PDFs, documents. Max file size: 10MB.

Tip: Use attachments to share photos of equipment issues, delivery confirmations, or documents that need quick review.

Announcements

Broadcast to everyone (Admin only):

    • Click Chat → "New Announcement"

    • Select audience: All Staff, specific roles, or individuals

    • Write your announcement

    • Send

Announcements appear prominently and can be pinned.

Read Receipts

See who has read your messages:

    • Single check — Delivered

    • Double check — Read

In groups, click to see who has read.

Notifications

Chat notifications are sent via:

    • In-app — Badge counts and alerts

    • Push — Mobile notifications (if app installed)

    • Email — Optional, for missed messages

Configure notification preferences in Settings → Notifications.

Managing Groups

Adding Members

    • Open the group

    • Click group name/settings

    • Click "Add Members"

    • Select staff

    • Add

Removing Members

    • Open group settings

    • Click "Remove" next to member

    • Confirm

Leaving a Group

    • Open group settings

    • Click "Leave Group"

    • Confirm

Searching Messages

    • Open a conversation

    • Click the search icon

    • Type search terms

    • Results show matching messages

Chat is a business tool. Keep conversations work-appropriate.

💰 Use the Right Channel

Direct messages for private matters, groups for team topics, announcements for company-wide.

📂 Don't Over-Message

Combine related points into one message instead of sending many short ones.

Chat creates expectations of quick responses. Check regularly during work hours.
